In case of a cashless claim against your coronavirus health insurance policy, here’s how it works:

STEP 1: Intimation

You need to approach a Bajaj Allianz Network Hospital, who will verify your details and send it ahead to us for authorization

STEP 2: Authorization

Once we receive the necessary information from the hospital, we’ll go through the details and approve your claim, if it is admissible, within a day. We may get back to the hospital in case of certain queries, and once those queries are resolved satisfactorily, we will go ahead and send an authorization letter to them within 7 days.

STEP 3: Treatment

Once your authorization is in place, all you need to do is get admitted, get treated and get better soon. We’ll take over the headache of coordinating with the hospital and clearing all the necessary medical bills and costs!

If, for some reason you are unable to access a Bajaj Allianz network hospital, you’ll have to opt for the reimbursement process for claiming your coronavirus health insurance policy. In this case, you’ll have to pay the hospital for the medical expenses, and once you claim is approved, you’ll received a reimbursement for it from us.

Here are some important points to remember to make your reimbursement claim process smooth-sailing:

  • Make sure you collect and safely store all the original medical bills and receipts you want to claim
  • You need to send all these bills to us with a duly completed claim form 
  • You can either upload these documents online using our Caringly Yours App, or send them via courier to our in-house claim processing unit – HAT (Health Administration Team)

Once we receive your claim, we’ll quickly go through the documents & details to make sure everything is in order. If some important documents are left to be sent, don’t worry. We’ll let you know so you can provide the same, we’ll even send you three reminders spaced over 30 days. You can send us the deficient documents within this time, and we’ll take the process ahead accordingly.

For Hospitalization claims:

  • A fully filled and signed Claim Form
  • A copy of your passport/photo Identity proof (in case you don’t have a passport)
  • Medical practitioner's prescription advising admission
  • Original bills with itemized break-up
  • Payment receipts
  • Discharge summary including complete medical history of the patient along with other details.
  • Investigation reports including your test reports from Authorized diagnostic centre for COVID
  • OT notes or Surgeon's certificate giving details of the operation performed, wherever applicable
  • Sticker/Invoice of the Implants, wherever applicable.
  • NEFT Details (to enable direct credit of claim amount into bank account) and cancelled cheque.
  • (Identity proof with Address) of the proposer, where claim liability is above Rs 1 Lakh as per AML Guidelines
  • Legal heir/succession certificate, wherever applicable
  • In some cases, we may require certain other relevant document as well, which we’ll inform you on a case-to-case basis.

     

    For Home Treatment claims:

  • A fully filled and signed Claim Form

Under the Corona Kavach policy, you are covered for these two main courses of treatment for coronavirus. Read on to know more about what all comes under the Corona Kavach cover:

COVID Hospitalization Cover

This cover under the Corona Kavach Health Insurance compensates you for the expenses that you will incur in case you are hospitalized for the treatment of coronavirus. Read more

COVID Hospitalization Cover

This cover under the Corona Kavach Health Insurance compensates you for the expenses that you will incur in case you are hospitalized for the treatment of coronavirus. Here’s what all is covered under this section:

  • Room rent, Boarding, Nursing expenses (as provided by the Hospital)
  • ICU/ICCU (Intensive Care Unit/Intensive Cardiac Care Unit) expenses, in case you need to be admitted into the same
  • Fees paid directly to a doctor or the hospital for availing the services of a Surgeon, Anaesthetist, Medical Practitioner, Consultants or a Specialist
  • Anaesthesia costs, blood/oxygen/operation theatre charges, charges for surgical appliances, ventilator charges, costs towards medicines and drugs, costs towards diagnostics/diagnostic imaging modalities, the cost for a PPE Kit/gloves/masks and such similar other expenses
  • Road Ambulance charges for the transportation, in case of a COVID related hospitalization, up to INR 2000

In order for the cover to kick-in, you need to be hospitalized for a continuous period of at least 24 hours.

If your test from a Government Authorized diagnostic Centre comes out positive, and you need to avail the treatment of the same in your home instead of a hospital, the Corona Kavach policy covers that as well. For this cover to come into force, there are a few stipulations:

  • The home treatment needs to be at the advice of a medical practitioner
  • There needs to be an active line of treatment that is availed, with daily monitoring of health status by a medical practitioner

If you meet these two conditions, and will be able to maintain and provide a daily chart including a record of the treatment administered, signed off by the treating doctor, then the Corona Kavach cover is applicable to you.

Here’s a list of what is covered under the Home Care Treatment Expenses cover of this coronavirus health insurance:

  • Costs of diagnostic tests undergone
  • Cost of medicines prescribed in writing
